Library Conduct Code​

  • The ISAT U students, faculty and key officials, non-teaching personnel, alumni and outside researchers can avail of the library resources and services subject to its rules and regulations.
  • Researchers from other institutions can avail of the library services upon presentation of the letter from their librarian, subject to the rules and regulations of the university library.
  • Alumni of the university can avail of the library resources and services upon presentation of their alumni id.

Library Conduct Code​

  • The Library is a study area in which reasonable QUIET IS ESSENTIAL. Walking along the library corridors and standing-by must be done in silence or subdued voice tones.
  • Return books to the library when you have finished with them. Other students may need them.
  • Bags and other bulky materials shall be deposited at the baggage counter.
  • VANDALISM (defacing, marking, cutting, mutilating or damaging library resources in any way shall not be tolerated. Whoever is caught shall be subject to disciplinary action and/or will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource. Books borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.
  • Cleanliness and orderliness should be everybody’s concern.

Lending System​

  • Subject reference books are loaned for overnight use only. Borrowing time starts at 3:00pm Monday to Friday and to be returned the following day not later than 8:30am.  Graduate  students can borrow books in the morning during Saturdays.
  • General reference books such as: encyclopedia, yearbooks, dictionaries, atlases, manuals and other types such as newspapers, magazines, journals are to be read inside the library only.
  • Thesis and dissertations are not lent for overnight use and are not allowed to be photocopied.
  • Reserve books are not lent for overnight use.
  • Permanent faculty members are allowed to borrow a maximum of five books for one semester for the subjects they are teaching. Books with only one copy will not be allowed to be borrowed by the faculty if it is used as one of the references in the subject/s taught.
  • Regular employees are allowed to borrow a maximum of two books for a certain period of time and will be recalled if needed by the students. Borrowed books of faculty and non-teaching personnel should be returned to the library as soon as he/she has his/her clearance signed by the librarian.
  • Part time faculty members are allowed to borrow a maximum of two book/s upon presentation of their id and appointment for the term they are hired or if it is not available, a signed schedule and a letter from the dean or department head. Borrowed materials should be returned upon signing of clearance.
  • Renewal of books borrowed by faculty would depend on the demand for use of the book.
  • Non-print materials such as dvd’s or cd’s, and other videos are not allowed to be brought outside the library. Viewing of the same should be done in the library.

Fines and Penalties

  • Circulation book/s overdue – 0.25cents/hr. (undergraduate and graduate students after 8:30 am except on Sundays and holidays).  
  • Lost book/s should be reported immediately to the librarian. Otherwise, if its overdue, the borrower will have to pay the overdue fines incurred until the day the loss is reported.
  • A book of the same author, title and copyright can replace a lost book. However, if it is not available, a book of the same subject but of the latest edition can be made as a replacement. (Please see the librarian for your replacement).    
  • A student caught stealing or found cutting or mutilating library material/s will be reported to the office of the students services for appropriate disciplinary action.    
  • Books that were badly damaged or with missing or torn pages upon return should be replaced with a new one of the same author, title and copyright or if it is not available, get the latest edition.  
  • Forgery. Penalty for students who has forged the librarian’s signature for the purpose of settling account from the library would be sanctioned. (Refer to the college code, 2014 page 55).
